5 Indian Cricketers Who Get More Salary than IPL from BCCI Central Contract

Since the BCCI released the Central contract, there are a few names of cricketers who will earn more from the BCCI as compared to the IPL.

On 22 February 202, the BCCI announced the schedule of the first two weak of the IPL. There will be 21 matches in the first phase of the IPL 2024. In this, every team will play at least three and a maximum of five matches in the first two weeks from 22 March to 7 April.

While in due course, the full schedule of IPL 2024 will be announced. The first match will be between the defending champion Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB). On 22 March, this opening match will likely be held at Chepauk Stadium, in Chennai.

In the meanwhile, the BCCI has also announced the annual central contract for the senior men’s team for the 2023-24. The period that will covered will be from 1 October 2023 to 30 September 2024. Often, cricketers earn huge amounts from the cash-rich franchise-based Indian T20 League IPL.

However, there are only a few cricketers who earn more from BCCI as compared to IPL. Below is the list of 5 players who will earn more from BCCI than IPL.

5 Players Who Will Receive a Higher Income from their BCCI Central Contract as Compared to IPL 

1. Kuldeep Yadav

The first player, who will earn from Central Contarct is Kuldeep Yadav. The left-arm wrist spinner is categorized in Grade B and guaranteed a 3 crore annual income plus match fees. Whereas while playing for Delhi Capitals in the 2024 IPL, his earnings will fall around 2 crores per season. Kuldeep Yadav will earn the highest combined, among the five players on the list.

2. Rinku Singh

For KKR, Rinku had an exceptional IPL in the 2023 season. In his last IP, he amassed 474 runs at an average of 59.25, including four half-centuries. The rising star left-handed batter finds himself in Grade C of the Cetral Contarct for the 2023-204 season. Here his earnings will be 1 crore plus match fees, while in the IPL of 2024 contract worth 55 lakhs per season. 

3. KS Bharat

The next cricket player in the Central Contract of the BCCI is wicket-keeper batsman KS Bharat. He is categorized in Grade C for the Central Contract of BCCI for the 2023-2024 season, where he will earn 1 crore plus match fees. However, in the auction of the 2024 IPL, KS Bharat was bought by Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) for a base price of 50 lakhs. His earnings from IPL will be 5o Lakh.

4. Jitesh Sharma

In Grade C, the wicket-keeper batter Jitesh Sharma has also secured his place. In Grade C his earning will be 1 crore plus match fees annually. Whereas in 2024 IPL Punjab Kings batter earnings will be 20 Lakh for this season. 

5. Rajat Patidar 

Rajat Patidar is placed in the Grade C category for central contract for the 2023-24 season. He will earn 1 crore plus match fees, which is almost similar to wicket-keeper batter Jitesh Sharma. Rajat Patidar of Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) will earn ₹20 lakhs in the IPL 2024. Rajat Patidar was accepted by RCB for 20 lakhs to replace Luvnith Sisodia during IPL 2022. Also, has been maintaining him for the same price since then.
