Pat Cumins has been Appointed Skipper of Sunriser Hyderabad in IPL 2024

Pat Cummins was made the new captain of Sunrisers Hyderabad in place of Aiden Markram, before IPL 2024. The winning captain of the ODI World Cup 2023 Pat Cummin is all set to take a leadership role in the upcoming edition of IPL 2024 for SRH.

This statement was confirmed by the team management on Monday. Aiden Markram was the SRH captain in IPL 2023 but his team could not execute nicely. In IPL 2023, SRH ended last with only four wins from 14 matches and could not ready for the playoffs.

However, after the Sunrise franchise won the inaugural edition of the SA20 league, Markam was appointed. It has been seen that with Aiden Markram-led Sunrisers also defending their title in the SA20 league this year.

The SRH franchise can keep up with them in the cash-rich league. Pat Cummins is a proven leader and world-champion cricketer, who has taken over the reins from Aiden Markram and also led the Orange Army in IPL 2023.

The leadership of Australian Star was on full display. He captained his national team to a historic achievement in the ICC ODI World Cup 2023 against India. His aggressive bowling style coupled with his tactical acumen makes him a healthy choice for the captaincy.

Pat Cummins has been secured by the Hyderabad-based franchise Australian skipper for an amount of INR 20.5 crores. There was a war of biding between Mumbai Indians, Chennai Super Kings, and Royal Challengers Bangalore in the mini-auction of IPL 2024.

However, the IPL career of Cummins doesn’t justify his ability as a player. Pat Cummins is an Australian international cricketer, who has played 42 matches so far getting 45 wickets at an economy of 8.54.

In his IPL career, he has collected 379 runs after smashing three half-centuries till now. The first challenge of the Australian will be against the Kolkata Knight Riders. This is because, both teams will start their IPL 2024 campaign at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata, on 23 March.
